Shock! Horror! Sensation! Mercury Music Prize goes to good album!

The Mercury Music Prize is an annual event which invloves promoting the sales of about twelve albums by putting them on a widely-publicised shortlist, then giving the award to one of the more obscure[1] nominees.

Every year, I see the shortlist, note how many of them I already have and wait for the ones I like to not win. But this year, something seems to have gone wrong[2]. The award has actually gone to a real band who play real instruments and perform real songs. Yes, it’s Franz Ferdinand, who I have mentioned here before, and whose debut album:

is still one of my favourites of the year. I’m shocked. :wink:

Now that’s a bit better. This morning’s much improved weight is 200.8 pounds (14 stone 4.8 pounds, 91.1kg). I should get some exercise tonight, and I have a long weekend without any nights out planned, so more exercise should follow. That should get me back on track…..
