Moving forward

Somehow, I managed to forget to weigh myself this morning[1], so Monday’s figure was recorded when I got home from work: 198.8 pounds (14 stone 2.8 pounds, 90.2kg), which is a step in the right direction.

Talking of heading in the right direction, I walked to and from work[2] to day, and managed another exercise session. This was much the same as yesterday’s, except that I increased the resistance on the exercise bike a bit, which was enough of an extra effort to get my heart rate up to 156, a level I don’t normally reach without using the rowing machine. :bouncy:

[2] Over the last few weeks, it’s either been raining enough to put me off, or I’ve been running late in the mornings, or I’ve been too tired to walk all the way home more often than not :???:

End of another weekend

But the start of a new something or other. First, the ever-popular weight report: down this morning to 199.6 pounds (14 stone 3.6 pounds, 90.5kg), which is still below the psychologicackle 200 pound line, and is therefore quite acceptable for now.

And having had a couple of nights off, I persuaded myself to do some more exercise. As usual, I started with 1okm on the exercise bike, then went on to do 180 crunches[1] on the abominable abdominal exerciser. Not satisfied with that, I did some work with the weights and for the first time in months, a set on the Bullworker. All that got me a peak heart rate of 140.

I’m hoping I can do something similar three times a week. And maybe even get myself on the rowing machine again. :eek:

No change in my weight today - 199.2 pounds (14 stone 3.2 pounds, 90.4kg). I cheated a bit today and got the bus into work, but I made up for it with another exercise session this evening. I did the same as yesterday, and this time my peak heart rate was 134.

I hope I can keep this up…

I seem to have found some energy

This morning’s weight was down a wee bit more to 199.2 pounds (14 stone 3.2 pounds, 90.4kg), which is at least heading in the right direction.

This evening, I managed to make a new start on the exercise routine :bouncy: . I stopped almost a month ago[1] when all the hideous weekend working started, as I knew I wouldn’t have the energy to do much[2].

Anyway, this evening, I decided it was time to make a start, so I got on the exercise bike and did the usual 10km, which was fine. Well, I did perspire ever so slightly[3], but that’s not a bad thing. Having done that, I felt like doing a bit more, so I did 180 crunches on the abominable abdominal exerciser, and three quick sets with the dumbbells. All that, and a peak heart rate of 135 was a nice start.

Now I hope I can manage something similar for three nights a week. We shall see…

This morning’s weight was holding nicely at 198.0 pounds 14 stone 2 pounds, 89.8kg).

Had the day off as I’ll be working all weekend, and I need some time to relax. And relaxing is just what I did. Had a good sleep (well, I did wake up a few times, but I managed to get back to sleep, which is good), then stayed in bed reading for a while before eventually getting up. After a light (and late) breakfast, I headed to the MetroCentre, where I saw War of the Worlds, which I might get round to reviewing later, and bought the latest Doctor Who DVD release[1], then came home.

After a bit more relaxation, I did another 10km on the exercise bike, with a peak heart rate of 126.

And it’s still very warm.

Back to work tomorrow, lots to do to prepare for the weekend work.

I’m planning on a day like this next week, too. I think I’ll need it :eek2:

Maybe it’s the heat

It’s only a small change from yesterday, but this morning’s weight is a new low at 197.8 pounds (14 stone 1.8 pounds, 89.7kg). :bouncy:

And despite the sticky heat, I managed 10km on the bike again, with a peak heart rate of 139 - not as high as yesterday, but still pretty good.

Not sure what’s happenning here…

…but I seem to be making some progress. This morning’s weight was down to 198.0 pounds (14 stone 2 pounds, 89.8kg). That’s equal to the lowest weight I recorded last year, which is good going. It’s also about 10 pounds less than I weighed at the beginning of this year.

I must have been inspired by that, or something, because I got on the exercise bike for the usual 10km, which got my heart rate up to a quite serious 151.

It’s been a warm sunny day, so the walk to and from work was very pleasant.

Back on track…

…even though I haven’t been on a train today :smile: This morning’s weight was down quite noticably to 200.2 pounds (14 stone 4.2 pounds, 90.8kg).

Today was warm and sunny, so the walk to and from work was very nice[1]. And the extra walk to Tesco’s to do the shopping I would have done on Saturday if I hadn’t been working in Manchester wasn’t bad either.

[1] Listening to Madness on the MP3 player worked nicely for that

This morning’s weight was down a whisker to 202.2 pounds (14 stone 6.2 pounds, 91.7kg).

Did another 10km on the exercise bike, with a peak heart rate of 140, which is probably due to it being a bit warm this evening. Talking of the weather, I thought the summer was over when I got up this morning. It was damp, overcast and generally not very nice. But by lunchtime[1] it had cleared up, sun shining, and all that kind of thing. The walk home was very pleasant, too. :smile:

This morning’s weight was down again to 202.4 pounds (14 stone 6.4 pounds, 91.8kg).

And even though it was a wee bit warm, I got on the old exercise bike for the usual 10km, getting my heart rate up to 138. Pant, sweat, etc. :roll2:
