Must have been a 24-hour flu thing

Sunday, 9th May 2004 9:42 pm

Most odd. By about 5pm today, I was feeling a lot better. All the aches and pains have gone, and my appetite has returned. Had some nice sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice, and a couple of glasses of wine.[1]

Looks like I’ll be fine for work tomorrow, which is not a Bad Thing

Changes…

Well, the redesign is nearly complete. There are a couple of minor adjustments to make, and the archive files need a bit of work, but that will have to wait until later….

Down (but it’s not normal)

Sunday, 9th May 2004 5:09 pm

Well, probably because of the attack of the lurgy, and not actually eating much yesterday, my weight this morning was down to 202.4 pounds (14 stone 6.4 pounds, 91.8kg). Expect it to rise tomorrow, as I think I’ll be eating a proper meal tonight

Attack of the dreaded lurgy

Sunday, 9th May 2004 5:04 pm

On Saturday afternoon, I suddenly started feeling cold and shivery. I mean really shivering. Now, it had been a little cooler than of late, but it certainly wasn’t that cold. I then started to ache all over and feel totally worn out. Didn’t feel like eating much, and couldn’t even contemplate opening a bottle of wine (which I normally do on a Saturday evening). Watched TV till about 10:30, then went to bed.

Woke up this morning still feeling rough as the proverbial badger’s bottom.[1] Had a cup of tea rather than the usual mega-espresso[2], and had to force myself to get out to the laundrette to pick up my washing. Got home, feeling even rougher and achier.

Sat around, read the paper, phoned my brother. All while feeling ewwwww.

Then I decided to get back to fixing the layout of this here weblog. Did that, and now I actually feel a lot better. Not 100%, but much better :smiley

I’ve had this kind of thing before. Some weird virus thingy, I guess…..

[1] I can’t say I’ve ever got close enough to a badger to confirm how rough its bottom actually is, but I’ll continue to use the phrase anyway
